Description:

This is a self-guided audio tour (podcast) presented by Gary Wallis, Geologist.

The coastal section that you are about to explore includes some of the oldest rocks in Victoria. Experience both the recent and geological history of Walkerville on the Cape Liptrap Peninsula, as you walk the coast overlooking beautiful Waratah Bay and the Wilsons Promontory.

See fossil limestones, sea caves and historic lime burning kilns, spectacularly folded 400 million year old mudstones and sandstones and volcanic ancient greenstones. Stand on a major fault zone of crushed rock along which Victoria’s largest earthquake occurred.
