Learn about the impacts marine invaders have on our oceans as we explore the issues of marine pests, marine debris and badly behaved human invaders! Help our local marine wildlife by becoming a Marine Protector. We’ll discover some of the invasive species that have made their home in Victorian waters, and the ways in which they affect native species. We’ll also explore the impacts of marine debris, and look at the way rubbish we use every day can affect local species, the oceans and even us! Finish the session with a beach clean, where we collect and analyse the rubbish found in Jawbone Marine Sanctuary, discuss where it might have come from, and figure out how we can reduce it.
