Join our Parks Victoria Rangers to discover who is living on the beach! Junior Rangers will learn about the shorebirds currently living and nesting on the beaches.
Looking through a powerful scope and binoculars we will discover how shorebirds birds live here, feeding and raising their young - right there in the open sand.
Junior Rangers will experience first hand how hard it can be raising a family on such a popular stretch of beach and will know how you can help protect them into the future!
This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
Please bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, hat, and wear enclosed shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Involves walking along beaches - not suitable for prams.
Activities may be rescheduled, changed or cancelled due to adverse weather or for emergency response.
Please meet 5 minutes before scheduled. Meet at the set of picnic tables next to Killarney beach boat ramp.
From Princes Hwy, turn onto Mahoneys Road, from Mahoneys take a left at Basin Track and follow it until you reach a fork in the road. Take the track to the right until you reach the boat ramp car park.
