Join a Ranger on a guided walk through Hooded Plover territory. These endangered shorebirds live and breed on our ocean beaches throughout Southern Australia. Learn the plight of the plover, including its habitat, breeding cycle, threats, population monitoring and why they need our protection. With less than 600 Hooded Plovers left in all of Victoria…let’s tread carefully.
This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
Please bring water, sunscreen, hat, insect repellent, and wear enclosed shoes and appropriate clothing for the weather.
Involves walking along beaches and stairs - not suitable for prams.
Activities may be rescheduled, changed or cancelled due to adverse weather or for emergency response.
