Dr Benjamin Cooke is a Senior Lecturer in the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University, where he runs the ‘people and environment’ research group. He is a teacher in environmental studies and sustainability, and is interested in private-land conservation, such as farms and our own backyards.
Dr Mitchell Harley is a Scientia Fellow and Senior Lecturer in the Water Research Laboratory at UNSW. He is a leading international researcher in coastal monitoring and real-time early warning and founded the CoastSnap, which is a crowd-sourced beach monitoring technique using smartphones.
Dr Rebecca Olive is a Senior Research Fellow in the Social & Global Studies Centre, where her work focuses on the role of recreational sport, physical activity and leisure in human-ocean health and wellbeing. With a focus on surfing and ocean swimming, Rebecca is interested in the role of sports in how people take care of coasts and oceans.
Professor Wendy Steele is part of the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University. Her research focuses on sustainability and urban governance in human-nature relationships with an emphasis on wild cities, urban governance, policy and planning, climate justice, critical infrastructure and sustainability.
