Description:

Water for Wildlife 17 Jan 2020 - Frankston South

Living with Wildlife : Help your local wildlife survive this hot summer and get creative making a mosaic water dish for your garden.

This fun and creative, hands on, mosaic type activity is suitable for children and adults. Participants create a unique water container to take home for their garden.

With real examples, interactive displays and information about the effects of our hot summers, as well as climate change on wildlife, participants will learn, and be empowered, to make a difference.

Mosaics can be simple or complex and challenge the participant to be as creative as they wish. We utilise recycled materials wherever possible. Shells, pebbles and tiles are glued to terracotta saucers to create a take home water container.

At the end of the activity participants will;

1. understand the impact of heat stress on wildlife,

2. be inspired and empowered to make a difference to their local wildlife,

3. have participated in a creative activity with a practical purpose.
